Angiotensin II

Sample type:
Plasma, frozen Lavender-top (EDTA) tube with Trasylol.
Uses:
Doctors most often use the Angiotensin II level test to monitor a disease called sarcoidosis. This condition causes inflammatory cells called granulomas to form in the body, leading to organ inflammation.
Precautions:

Patient must not have received radioactive substances 24 hours prior to test.

Sample should add to tube contain Trasylol label.

Patient should be fasting.
Interfering factor:
If you are on steroid medicine, ask your provider if you need to stop the medicine before the test, because steroids can decrease ACE levels. DO NOT stop any medicine before talking to your provider .
pre analytical errors:
sample not submitted in tube with Trasylol label,gross hemolysis recently administered radioisotopes,specimen not received frozen; serum, sodium citrate, or heparinized plasma specimen; lipemia.
The corrective action:
The sample must be rejected and another sample obtained.
Post analytical errors:
Delay in reporting.
The corrective action:
send result immediately after finished from test.
